 In October 2006, the Cooperation Agreement between the Kherson CCI and CCI Prahova was signed. Visit of Romanian businessmen to Kherson, which occurred on September 26–27, 2007, is one of the first important results of the mutual work within this document. Visit of Romanian businessmen to Kherson, which occurred on September 26–27, 2007, is one of the first important results of the mutual work within this document. According to Mr. Aurelian Gogulescu, Head of the Romanian delegation and President of the CCI Prahova, the aim of the visit was to become acquainted with the Kherson region's economy, study the possibilities of trade and manufacture relations development. Program of the Romanian business mission to Kherson included official meetings with regional and city authorities, as well as attending the enterprises. Romanian businessmen visited the unique according to its technologies Kakhovka plant of electric welding equipment, production of which is present on the markets of 78 countries all over the world. They observed the process of heavy building machinery testing by the «PetroNiñk» company, being the only Ukrainian SKD building machinery constructor and could evaluate delicate brandies at Agricultural industrial company «Tavria». During the official meetings with Mr. Andriy Gradil, Kherson Deputy Governor, and Mr. Volodymyr Saldo, Kherson City Mayor, the spheres of possible economic interregional cooperation were discussed. Besides, Kherson City Mayor proposed Sister relations between Kherson and the city of Ploiesti, the administrative center of Prahova County, establishment. On September 27, in the conference-hall of the Kherson Chamber the meeting between the Romanian businessmen and the Ukrainian companies took place. Mr. Marcel Stancu, Trade Counsellor of the General Consulate of Romania in Odessa attended the meeting as well. Romanian guests arrived to Kherson with intention to find partners in the sphere of petrochemicals, gas, railway transport spare parts, non-ferrous scrap metals and machinery equipment supply. During the press-conference Mr. Aurelian Gogulescu, President of the CCI Prahova, mentioned the distinguishing hospitality and attention, the Romanian guests felt during their visit to Kherson. "During this first visit it was especially important for us to get as much information as possible. Unfortunately, we do not know each other well enough, in spite of the short distance separating our regions " — he said. This is just the beginning of relations between Kherson region and Prahova County, but the Kherson Chamber of Commerce and Industry applies all possible forces for these relations be long-term and mutually profitable. |
