The right side bank of the river is joined by some tributaries, the biggest of them being the Ingulets (The Minor Dnieper) which empties in the Dnieper forming the Ingulets liman (a long and narrow bay). Below Kherson, the Dnieper is divided into two branches –the Olkhovy Dnieper and the Ancient Dnieper- washing the Grand Potyomkin Isle which is famous for its picturesque banks. River creeks abound in small lakes with their surfaces covered with white and yellow water lilies.
